Bathroom Remodeling: Finding Fixtures

January 11, 2012

Bathroom sink faucetOne great way to refresh a bathroom during a remodeling project is by updating the fixtures. How do you choose the right fixtures for your bath? Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

  • What type of design will your sink, mirror and shower have? Do the fixtures match the style? Do they physically fit in the space?
  • Do you prefer modern (angular/ultra-streamlined) or traditional (more embellishment/classic styling)?
  • Do you like to switch your decor frequently or have eclectic taste? A plain style or neutral color might give you more options in the future.
  • Do you want something easy to clean and more reflective? Chrome is very popular right now because of these benefits.
  • Will you be happy with the style in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?

CIXX CollectionThere are two manufacturers we generally like to recommend to CAGE Design Build clients:

  1. We typically recommend GROHE because, in addition to a wide variety of high quality products, they offer a great warranty.
  2. The hand-forged CiXX collection by Sonoma Forge Distinctive Faucetry is great for clients that want more dramatic bathroom fixtures. In fact, we used these products in our current Saratoga bath remodeling project.

We’re curious: What types of bathroom fixtures do you prefer? Do you like modern or traditional, or something completely different? Let us know in the comments below!
